Nespresso have launched some new Coffee capsules, these are my thoughts on the 3 I purchased recently.
Let’s see which of these make the cut..
The Ispirazione was launched early this year in South Africa, the first time I tried it I wasn’t sold on it, after giving it another try a few days later, I enjoyed it as an afternoon after lunch coffee, with notes of cereal fragrance, fruity notes with a bit of sweet caramel.
The trick with coffee is to have it as clean and pure as possible, without milk or sugar as an espresso, if you have to add milk I generally add almond milk or macadamia milk depending on the Flavor profile of the coffee to enhance the notes.
The 3 new variants are the Vanilla Eclair, Cocoa Truffle, Caramel Creme Brûlée, I didn’t order the Caramel one as I generally find caramel too sweet, didn’t opt for that option, as it contains sugar. Recently learned vanillio and ciocattino contain sugar as well, I wasn’t surprised as the sweetness does tend to come though.
The Cocoa truffle is a delightful distinct flavorful coffee, perfect for the colder weather, this i would purchase again as an added treat, a winner for me! A combination of dark and bitter cocoa reminiscent of chocolate truffles. Totally love this coffee!
Lastly the Vanilla eclair an absolute disappointment to say the least, with or without milk it just doesn’t live up to the discontinued version of vanillio (vanilla coffee) this won’t be on my next order. The flavor profile is definitely lacking an type or hint of vanilla, with a strange taste, it’s a no from me on this capsule.
I love the Nespresso brand, sadly this brand has overpriced itself adding over R20 more per sleeve, insisting that it’s the exchange rate making it less appealing to the market, on a positive note the brand delivers within a week of placing the order online,the biggest downside there’s no service offering for collection of the recycled capsules.
