It’s been 2 weeks and I have almost been sugar free! I had the odd hidden sugar in a sauces here and there, what an adjustment it’s been so far!

It’s really not as easy as it sounds, the cravings and fantasies of having something sugary is a major mindset shift! Although it is possible!

Once we let go of old beliefs like having a piece of cake and sugary treats are a reward, we can then make changes of rewarding our bodies with healthy sustaining treats that we will later be thankful for!

Refined sugars are found in almost all our shop bought foods, sauces, energy drinks and all fizzy drinks and juices, making the effort to read labels can save your health!

The great news if we all decide to cut down, at least it won’t be so daunting, once the Sugar tax law is implemented on the 1st of April 2017, yes you heard correctly we will be paying a Sugar Tax in South Africa. I am all for it as its for a great cause, to reduce obesity in our country and allow longevity for all to lead healthier lifestyles.

I would love to encourage you all to cut down on hidden sugars and refined sugars, it will make a world of difference and save you money on health bills.

I have started a page on Facebook called  Consciously Sugar Free, this is to create awareness and share tips from myself and Jodene Shaer who is Sugar Free for 6 months already! An absolute motivation for us all well done Jodene!

I have discovered there are many benefits to cutting down on sugar, my personal experience:

  • Skin looks and feels amazing
  • Regular sleep patterns
  • More energy
  • Feel lighter
  • Loosing centimetres on my waistline.

Well what are you waiting for?

Share your journey with me, I look forward to hearing from you.
