Staycation: A holiday spent in one’s home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions.

It’s been a whirlwind of excitement this month, that’s just me being me when it’s my birthday month, with a rather challenging emotional year, a staycation is exactly what we needed.

The Capital Moloko is situated in the Sandton surrounds, a beautiful property, currently going through a refurbishment, the look and feel is beautiful, it’s going to look even better!

Drinks at the pool, a serene setting situated next to the Camelot Moloko Spa. The tranquility of water, African sun, soothing sounds of birds chirping in the distance, absolute bliss.

The upside: there is a free shuttle service every 2 hours to Nelson Mandela Square, or to the Gautrain station.

The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Reubens Restaurant a must visit! The mouthwatering chilli salted squid is a popular starter on the Menu, I can see why! Freshly prepared food, worth the wait, along with the attention to detail. Darling sweet toffees are given with the bill, the extra touch makes the experience!

If you a lover of chocolate tart this one is for you, be warned it’s a chocolate haven, safer to share the indulgence.

When all else fails go to the spa I say… we lay in a couples room within the tranquil setting and melted our stress away, as we were treated to luxury Swedish massage, the skies opened and we had some rain, this added to the relaxation. Coming from a therapy background I can be rather critical of massages, this was exactly like being back at massage school, the therapists are brilliant! we enjoyed the massages throughly.
